Kids Spring Break Weeklong Activities

Don’t let your kids sit around becoming couch potatoes during the break. Here are some arts & crafts, cooking, theater and NYC exploration activities!

ACT Spring Break Camp
Dates: Mon Mar 22–Wed Mar 31 9:30am–4pm. Extended hours available for a fee.
Ages: 5 to 13
Location: 1047 Amsterdam Ave at W 112th St

Kids engage in a variety of activities, including outdoor sports, planting in the garden, designing stained-glass windows and carving limestone (particularly appropriate since the program is housed at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine’s campus).

Taste Buds: Spring Break Camp
Dates: Mon Mar 21–Fri Apr 1 9:30am–noon.
Ages: 4 to 8 and 9 to 13

Each day is dedicated to a different country (Italy, China, France and Mexico) and its cuisine. Kids make and eat guacamole, lasagna, spring rolls and noodle salad, to name a few.

New York City Explorers
Dates: Winter Break Feb 21-25 and Spring Break March 21-April 1. 8am–3:30pm.
Ages: 3 to 10
Cost: $400 per week, $185 for two-day extension. Extended hours available for $25 per day.
Locations: 110 Schermerhorn St between Boerum Pl and Smith St, Downtown Brooklyn and 186 Underhill Ave at Sterling Pl, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn
Now that the weather’s getting warmer, there’s plenty to do both indoors and out. Campers spend the week exploring the Big Apple, with outings to museums, workshops and city sights. Itinerary is shared with parents in advance.

Park Explorers Mini Camp
Dates: April 18 – April 22 and April 25 & 26. 8am – 4pm. Extended hours to 6:30pm available for a $20 fee. Ages: 4 to 13
Location: St. Saviour Church, 611 Eighth Ave at 6th St, Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-788-3620, parkexplorers.com). Subway: F to Seventh Ave.
Cost: $65 per day
Participants play sports, dabble in arts and crafts, and go on field trips (past excursions included the American Museum of Natural History and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan).

New York Kids Club
Dates: Mon Mar 22–Fri Apr 2 9am–4pm.
Ages: 2.5 to 6
Locations: 6 locations in Tri-Boro area
Cost: $150 per day, $700 per week.

Offers camp for the preschool aged crowd at all six of its locations. Spring Break Camp will transport children on an educational journey through a spring wonderland as they participate in an exciting array of physically enriching and artistically engaging activities combining the best of our one-of-a-kind curriculums. Children will participate in gymnastics, art, music, movement, martial arts, yoga, sports, cooking, science, dance and our industry renowned interactive theater experience.
