The Opera N’ Art program incorporates elements of art and music into sessions in a fun and engaging way. Classes are small with between nine and 13 children and depending on age of child, an adult. Class activities alternate between painting, sculpture, visits to local galleries and museums, and then acting out or performances related to what the group experienced. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to participate in the program whether it be singing, dancing, art, or physical activities. There is no question that activities encourage and foster interest in the arts. New York City is such a wonderful melting pot of art and culture. We believe that HiArt! provides an avenue to introduce these resources in a more structured and controlled environment. A true gem of a program found in few places outside of NYC.

I recently attended a birthday party at the beautiful gallery at Hi Art and it was a candy art theme. The mother/daughter run program was wonderful and they were attentive to all children. The children were aged 3 to 7 and all really enjoyed making their candy based art projects. Energy was high – partially due to the sugar (I’m sure). There was no shortage of materials – gummy candy, licorice, dots, mints, straws, marshmallows, toothpicks and wood skewers, gingerbread crackers, and color frosting for your glue. The projects grew up off their canvases with 3-D creations. Call to inquire about private parties or special offerings.
