There is a giant attraction to bubbles and bubble related devices – I love them, my children love them, everyone loves them. There has always been something appealing about bubble machines and the thought of creating the hundreds of bubbles that they advertise. Unfortunately, my experience has not been good with battery operated devices. I recently went to a site devoted to bubble toys and the reviews across the board for bubble devices were negative and inconsistent where it is not unanimously negative. My experiences have been ever so negative. I have even had experiences where the devices never worked – EVER. So I wasted $7-$25 on the device and $4-$6 on batteries (if they were not included). More recently, I have stuck to the old fashioned wand and loop. That is why I am so excited to enlighten you on what I have recently come across.
Recently, a friend purchased a device at Walgreen in Florida and it was fantastic. It’s powered by hand cranking (so no batteries) and I spotted the device at a Walgreen on 23rd street here in New York when shopping for other gift items. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the device anywhere else, including the internet with the exception of an Australian site (it is very similar but not exactly the same – I provided the picture).
So, no batteries, it is hand cranked, and can literally blow thousands of bubbles in minutes. I would say, get them while they are available because I suspect this is going to be a hit! I have already told a half a dozen people and they want me to pick up as many as I can get my hands on and they will pay for them. The COST $3.99. A small price to pay for pure genius.
So, GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE HOT – Walgreens has them. Nowhere else can I find them. You should see me – I am like the Pied Piper cranking it around the house and into the hallways with children marching after me laughing and screaming.
Great post! I?m just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well – resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case
OK, I just bought the last 3 at the Walgreens on B’way and 97th, and these things are amazing!!!! Brilliant bubble maker – I need to find more.
This is definitely the best bubble maker we’ve purchased for our son. He’s 18 months old and loves it. He can do it on his own.
I bought two of them at the Walgreens on 97th & Broadway. There were at least 6 left when I was there last Fri.
Thanks for the tip!
As far as I know, there are no Walgreens on the UWS yet, but I did pass one on the East side in 60′s and 2nd Avenue. They had sold out already. 23rd Street and Park Avenue was well stocked when we stopped in a little over a week ago. As I said, I may pick up a bunch myself for friends.
Where is there a Walgreens in Manhattan? I want one of these! Or 20 of them….
