Saturday, May 8th @ 3pm – I Love You MOM! FREE. All Ages. For Mother’s Day nothing says “I love you mom” more than flowers. To show moms some love, kids will make their moms fun flower bouquets courtesy of our friends at Chicken Socks and enjoy a story time with the new book The Moms’ Book: For the Mom Who’s Best at Everything. Moms will get tips on throwing the coolest birthday party and baking the best treats!
Saturday, May 15th @ 3pm – Let’s Bug Out! FREE. Ages 4+.**Author Visit Alert!!** Come down to The Scholastic Store for a visit with author Julia Gran as she hosts story time and reads from her book Big Bug Surprise. Kids can also see live caterpillars and butterflies and make their own paper bugs to take home. Come meet the author and get your book signed!
Saturday, May 22nd @ 3pm – It’s Fire Safety Day. FREE. Ages 4+. Kids, ever wonder what to do in case of a fire? Well, The Scholastic Store has got you covered with top tips for fire safety from the FDNY! Kids will enjoy a reading of Firehouse, the new book from bestselling author Mark Teague and create a fire safety craft to share with friends and family.
Saturday, May 29th @ 3pm – Memorial Day is Family Day! FREE. All Ages. The Scholastic Store is hosting a Memorial Day blow-out celebration like no other! Kids will enjoy our three “Fun Stations” with red, white and blue face painting, music, dancing and more! Story time includes a reading of the store’s bestselling Memorial

Saturday, June 5th @ 3pm – It’s A Graduation Party! FREE. Ages 4+. Calling all graduates of 2010!!! It’s graduation season and The Scholastic Store is honoring our kindergarten graduates from across NYC with a grand graduation party! All little graduates will get a $5.00 gift certificate when they show their diplomas and get the chance to win Dr. Seuss’ Oh The Places You’ll Go graduation kit – complete with a graduation diploma, magnetic picture frame and a graduation journal. Enjoy singing, dancing, mini graduation cap and tons more!
Saturday, June 12th @ 3pm – We All Scream For Ice Cream! FREE. Ages 3+. The Scholastic Store is hosting an ice cream extravaganza! Come on down, cool off a bit and learn how to make your own ice-cream. Kids will also enjoy story time with the new book I Am An ICE CREAM TRUCK by Ace Landers. Kids can read along and go inside the ice cream truck to see where all the different kinds of ice cream and other frozen treats are stored. It’s a book and a toy in one!
Saturday, June 19th @ 3pm – I Love You DAD! FREE. Ages 3+. The Scholastic Store shows dads some love on Father’s Day with a story time reading of My Daddy and Me. Kids will make their dads books with Build-A-Book: A Book About Dad.
Saturday, June 26th @ 3pm – Clifford’s Annual Beach Festival. FREE. All Ages. Clifford the Big Red Dog is bringing the beach to The Scholastic Store for his Annual Beach Fest. Enjoy limbo and conga lines through the store with Clifford, kids will get their own colorful leis and create their very own seashell craft to take home.
